Our Mission
At Uplifting Caregivers Association, our mission is to ensure that no caregiver ever feels alone in their journey. We provide emotional support, accessible resources, and meaningful recognition to individuals caring for others—often without thanks or rest. Whether it’s through peer groups, educational tools, or simply a safe space to share, we work to uplift caregivers so they feel empowered, seen, and supported. We honor the tireless efforts of caregivers from all walks of life and walk beside them with compassion, understanding, and community. Every day, we strive to make caregiving not just sustainable—but joyful, resilient, and respected.

Our Vision
We envision a world where caregivers are universally valued, emotionally supported, and fully equipped to care without sacrificing their own well-being. In this future, no caregiver feels invisible or isolated. Instead, they are embraced by a strong network of services, recognition, and people who truly understand their experience. Our vision includes accessible support systems across every community—rural and urban, young and old—where caregivers can thrive, find joy, and live balanced lives. By raising awareness and building lasting connections, we aim to create a culture where caregiving is not a silent burden but a shared, celebrated strength.

Our Story
Uplifting Caregivers Association was born from a simple but urgent truth: caregivers often give everything and receive little in return. Founded in Davenport, Iowa, by individuals who have personally walked the caregiving path, our organization began as a small support circle in a local library. Over time, it grew into a wider movement—connecting caregivers across the region and beyond. We listened to stories of burnout, isolation, and quiet resilience, and we responded with compassion, programs, and presence. Our story is not just ours—it belongs to every caregiver we serve. It is a story of hope, healing, and the power of being seen.

Why We Exist
Caregivers are often invisible—working tirelessly behind the scenes with little recognition, few resources, and minimal rest. Many face burnout, isolation, and financial strain. We exist to change that. Our organization was founded to meet caregivers where they are—with open arms, practical support, and unwavering empathy. We believe every caregiver deserves respect, relief, and a reminder that their work matters deeply.
Support, Empower, Uplift
At Uplifting Caregivers Association, we understand caregiving like no one else because we’ve been there too. Our team is made up of individuals who have walked the caregiving path, so we know firsthand the challenges and rewards that come with it. We offer more than just resources—we offer genuine compassion, personalized support, and a welcoming community where every caregiver is valued.
Caring for the Caregivers Who Care for Everyone Else
At Uplifting Caregivers Association, our mission is clear and heartfelt:
To ensure that no caregiver feels alone in their journey.
Through compassion, community support, and access to meaningful resources, we empower caregivers to thrive—emotionally, mentally, and practically—while honoring the vital roles they play.
Caregivers give endlessly. They carry physical and emotional burdens. They advocate, organize, sacrifice, and love—often without rest or recognition. We exist to change that reality.
Why Our Mission Matters
There are over 53 million unpaid caregivers in the U.S. alone. Many experience burnout, depression, anxiety, and financial stress while trying to manage responsibilities that range from full-time care to juggling work, family, and medical appointments. Most do so in silence.
Caregivers are the backbone of families and communities. Yet, they’re often undervalued, under-supported, and unseen.
At Uplifting Caregivers Association, our mission is to change that by building a world where caregivers are:
- Supported with Resources
- Strengthened by Community
- Recognized for Their Sacrifices
- Protected by Policies
- Empowered to Thrive
How We Bring Our Mission to Life
Our mission is more than words—it’s action. Every program, event, and partnership we build is rooted in our commitment to care for caregivers holistically:

1. We Educate & Empower
We provide caregivers with tools, training, and knowledge to help them navigate medical systems, care planning, emotional well-being, and legal rights.
2. We Offer Emotional & Peer Support
We create safe spaces where caregivers can share, be heard, and connect—because community is a lifeline.
3. We Respond in Times of Crisis
We offer emergency resources, housing support, and assistance to caregivers facing unexpected hardships.
4. We Celebrate and Uplift
Through recognition events, awards, and public storytelling, we shine a light on caregivers who rarely receive thanks.
5. We Advocate for Change
We work with local leaders and lawmakers to influence caregiver-friendly policies and raise awareness of the challenges they face.
Our Commitment
We are committed to walking alongside caregivers—not just serving them, but listening, learning, and adapting to their evolving needs. Whether someone is new to caregiving or has done it for decades, we believe every caregiver deserves dignity, support, and the freedom to care for themselves, too.
Our Core Values

- We operate with transparency, accountability, and a sincere commitment to the well-being of caregivers and their families.
A Mission Fueled by Lived Experience
Our mission was born from real life—from caregivers who felt stretched, isolated, and unseen. That’s why we lead with compassion and authenticity. We know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, unappreciated, and exhausted. And we know the power of being told:
“You matter. You’re not alone. We’re here with you.”
